KILMURRAY FAMILY, KYOGLE
Walter Kilmurray married Annie Gardiner Evans Bennett
Their family is Cecil, Violet (Mrs Hinde), Alan, Eileen (Mrs Bill Felton), Eddie.
Walter originally came from the Bellingen, coming to Ettrick in 1922 to sharefarm for Tom Lamberton, later they moved further up the creek to sharefarm for Billy Darragh, from their the Kilmurray’s went to Sextonville where they sharefarmed for Alby Gay.
Eventually the Kilmurray’s came to Kyogle where Walter gained employment with the Kyogle Shire and remained there until he retired.
At the time of going to print the only remaining decendants in Kyogle were Mrs Bill Felton and Mrs Pauline Little.
Cecil worked on the shire for many years, then left for Sydney
Alan served in the army in New Guinea in World War 2
Eddie has been living in Sydney all his life
Violet and Eileen were prominant sportswomen in Kyogle playing Vigaro in the 1931 comp. Six teams took part Veneer, Ramblers, Ettrick, Geneva, Scarlett Fryers.
Violet was and excellent Tennis and Lawn Bowls player .
