Mary A. Thompson Rupprecht, age 89,
of Wagner Avenue, died Sunday at her residence. She was born on March 30, 1919 in Johnsonburg, Pa., daughter of the late John F. and Theresa Kilmurray Thompson. Mary had resided in Erie since 1948. She was a member of St. James R.C. Church. She was also a member of the Gem City Rock & Mineral Society. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Rupprecht, who died in 1998. Mary is survived by one daughter, Charlene Higgins of Erie; three sons, Gerard J. of Erie, Joel A. of Arizona and Donald A. and his wife Linda Rupprecht of Texas; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Martin and Thomas Thompson and two sisters, Elizabeth Thompson and Dorothy Zelechowski. No calling hours will be observed. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James R.C. Church on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emmaus Soup Kitchen, 218 East 11th St., Erie, PA 16503 or a Charity of one’s choice.
